Classic Beef Lasagna Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 jar of marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 cup of ricotta cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh basil

Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the jar of marinara sauce to the skillet and stir to combine.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, egg, and chopped basil. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese.
  • Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Place 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
  • Spread a layer of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
  • Sprinkle a layer of the mozzarella and parmesan cheese mixture over the ricotta cheese.
  • Repeat layers of meat sauce, noodles, ricotta cheese mixture, and cheese until all the ingredients are used up. Make sure to end with a layer of the meat sauce on top.
  • Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the lasagna cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
