Teriyaki Chicken
Here is a recipe for a popular Japanese dish, Teriyaki Chicken:
Ingredients:
4 chicken breasts
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup mirin
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons ginger, grated
2 tablespoons cornstarch
4 tablespoons water
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, garlic, and ginger. Cook over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
- Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan with the teriyaki sauce and stir continuously until the mixture thickens, about 2 minutes.
- Place the chicken breasts in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the chicken and continue cooking until the sauce has thickened and the chicken is fully coated, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve the teriyaki chicken over steamed rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions. Enjoy!
