A classic Bolognese sauce home made
Here is a recipe for a classic Bolognese sauce:
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 carrot, grated
1 celery stalk, diced
1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
1/2 cup red wine
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions:
- In a large saucepan over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and celery to the saucepan with the ground beef. Cook until the vegetables are soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, red wine, tomato paste, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and reduce the heat to low. Allow the sauce to cook, stirring occasionally, for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. The longer the sauce cooks, the more rich and flavorful it will become.
- Serve the Bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti or any other pasta of your choice. Enjoy!
